4 Careers that Allow You to Work from Home

Working from home used to be reserved for just a few. Nowadays, it’s normal for people to work from the comfort of their homes, either part-time or full-time.

For many, the ability to work from home is hugely beneficial. It allows them to spend more time with loved ones, save money on travel, and work in a more comfortable space. Many also find that it even increases their productivity.

If you have yet to experience the benefits of working from home, you might be interested in what it offers, which means finding a career that allows for remote working. You might wonder, what does that include? Here are four jobs that allow working from home.

1: Web Designer

A web designer builds and designs websites. While you can do this as a full-time employee, many web designers choose to go freelance and find their clients. This is a particularly appealing option; if you build the right skills and gain a good reputation, the earning potential is high.

To earn big as a freelance web designer, you must be able to win clients and provide excellent service. Using a web design questionnaire for your clients to fill out is extremely helpful, as it will give you better insight into what your client is looking for. Plus, it streamlines the communication process.

2: Virtual Assistant

Virtual assistants provide administrative assistance to businesses or clients from their homes. They often work at an hourly rate, with many juggling multiple clients to build a steady income. The typical tasks include:

  • Writing/Receiving and Organizing Emails
  • Taking Phone Calls
  • Appointment Scheduling
  • Planning Trips
  • Managing Social Media Accounts

To become a virtual assistant, you would preferably have previous administration assistance. However, that is optional, as there are plenty of online courses to kick-start this remote career.

3: Online Therapist

Therapy is an important support tool for those suffering from mental health issues. With online therapy, patients needn’t travel to a therapist’s office to receive that support. Instead, they can attend sessions online.

To become an online therapist, you will need experience in the field. That means having a psychology degree (or a degree in a similar subject) and the correct licenses to practice. It’s also important to have a genuine passion for supporting those struggling with mental health. If you tick those boxes, you can provide an essential service from the comfort of your home.

4: Accountant

Accountants have been around since accounting records began thousands of years ago. While the general idea has stayed the same over the years, a lot has changed, including the ability for accountants to work from home on their computers.

Online accountancy involves updating financial data, recording expenses, invoicing clients, reviewing employee timesheets, and more.

To become an online accountant, you will need a bachelor’s degree in accountancy or a similar field. From there, you need to pass the appropriate exams. On top of that, you must be detail-oriented with excellent time-keeping skills.

Working from home is a desirable option. Fortunately, there are plenty of remote working opportunities for those who wish to do so – far more than the ones listed above!
