Inject a Bit of Colour
If you are happy with the layout of your kitchen, then why not focus on injecting a bit of colour? You can add colour to the walls or ceiling, or you can repaint drab-looking cabinets. Feature walls or statement walls that are wallpapered can add texture and depth to a space and can help draw your eye to another area in your kitchen (even if the space is not large). When deciding which colours to use, always think about how they will feel all year round. For example, dark tones may be warming and comforting in winter, but how will they make you feel about your kitchen in those hotter summer months?

The lighting you use in your kitchen can have an impact on how it feels and looks. Even if your kitchen is not the largest around, you can still utilise statement lighting. For example, a chandelier in a galley kitchen is a welcome addition. When you are looking at adding new lighting and light fixtures, always think about functionality. If light fixtures are too low or in the way of cooking spaces, they will be distracting.
