6 Bedroom Transformation Ideas

By Voucherix-C Leave a Comment

If you want to get a good night’s sleep, then good sleep hygiene is essential. This means not only keeping a good sleep routine but also optimising your bedroom to help make good sleep possible. A calm and uncluttered space where you can relax is essential. If your bedroom is looking a little tired around the edges, then these 6 bedroom makeover ideas will help you create the right environment for a good night’s sleep.

Declutter

A messy room can be very difficult to relax in, so if your bedroom is overly cluttered, it is time to do something about it. All too often, the reason we live with too much clutter is because we don’t have enough storage. If this is the case, then consider new bedroom furniture. Bespoke solutions will make the most of the space that you have and ensure that you have the maximum amount of space to store all of your belongings. Hiring professionals like HouseUp can help make this easy and efficient while offering renovation expertise.

You may still need to declutter in order to put everything away, but this will give you space for everything that you want to keep.

Decorate

Tired walls need some TLC, so consider decorating. Pale neutral shades are very calming and can also help a small room feel a little bigger – an important consideration if your bedroom is on the smaller side.

You may want to consider a feature wall in a different colour as part of your new colour scheme. This can help to open up your room and give it more of a focal point.

Replace your bed

The sleep foundation recommends that you replace your mattress every 6-8 years. Over time, your mattress can become lumpy and uncomfortable, and this means that you will not be able to get a restful night’s sleep. If you are waking up tired and you ache, then this can be a sign that it is time to consider a new mattress.

If you want to maximise your storage, then you may want to consider something like an ottoman storage bed, which will maximise all that often wasted space under your bed.

Change your soft furnishings

Once you have changed your bed, you may want to turn your attention to the soft furnishings in the room. This means your bedding, curtains and cushions. Choose textures and colours that compliment your new colour scheme and add another dimension to your room.

Cotton bedding is incredibly comfortable and a great choice to help ensure that you get a good night’s sleep. Window dressings are also an important consideration and can really alter the feel of your room. Light curtains can frame your windows, whilst blinds will help to keep your room dark at night.

If you have a larger room, you may also want to consider adding a rug to help break up the floor space in your bedroom.

Add a dressing table

A seating area in your bedroom can be a good idea. For some people, this means adding a dressing table and stool, whilst for others, a desk and chair may be a more appropriate addition.

If you have no need for a dressing table or desk, then a comfortable chair near a window makes a great place to read a book.

Add a mirror

Mirrors are a popular interior design tool. When placed appropriately in a room, they can help to open it up, making it appear lighter and brighter. A full-length mirror is a good choice if you want somewhere you can check your outfit before you leave the house, whilst a smaller wall-mounted mirror will help to add a focal point.
