What are the evident signs of foreign objects in your tyres?

When you are a child, the signs of a puncture can be mysterious, and Mum or Dad suddenly pulling over saying ‘I think we’ve got a puncture’ can seem amazing. But, in fact, the truth of it is that drivers can often tell when something goes wrong with their car before the signs are obvious and glaring. If you are aware of the way your car feels and drives when it is in good condition, you should be easily able to spot when something goes wrong – even if you are not sure exactly what has happened! Let’s have a look at how to tell if you have something in your tyre.

Lack of Pressure

If your tyres begin to frequently lose pressure, this is a sign that the integrity of the tyre’s rubber has been disrupted. Slow punctures occur when a small amount of damage causes air to leak slowly from the tyre, compared with blowouts which are when the tyre essentially disintegrates. No matter which kind of damage your tyres have suffered, frequent punctures and an inability to maintain air pressure are signs that you need to replace your tyres and for that EcoTyre Services can help you to equip your vehicle with top-notch car tyres in Stevenage.

What’s Thumping?

Loud thumping or knocking noises can be alarming, but they are often rather like a person’s joints clicking and cracking when they move suddenly without warming up. However, unlike people, cars do not heal themselves, and these unexpected noises should be taken as the cry for help that they actually are!

Bad Vibrations

Even before your tyres start to lose air pressure, you might feel more intense vibrations through your steering wheel. As the steering system works closely with the wheels and tyres, any tyre issues will make themselves felt in your hands. Any changes of this nature should be investigated sooner, rather than later, as they can also be a sign of your suspension beginning to fail.

Loose Steering

As well as feeling vibrations under your hands, you might notice that your steering seems a little looser or less responsive to your commands. This too can be a sign that your tyres are not doing very well, and you should take steps to see if there is something in your tyre, causing these issues.

If you notice any of these issues with your tyres, immediately take steps to locate and remedy the potential problem. Give yourself the best chance of this by regularly checking your wheels and tyres so you know what they should look like when in good condition.
