Just four teams are remaining at Euro 2024, which means one of England, France, the Netherlands or Spain will lift the trophy on the 14th of July in Berlin.
Ahead of the two mouth-watering semi-final ties, here is a look at the four teams left at the European Championship, and their chances of going all the way.
Spain
After victory over hosts Germany in the quarter-final, Spain top the Euro 24 odds at 7/4. They are bidding for their first major tournament triumph since the Euro 12.
Spain have arguably been the most impressive team during this tournament so far. They are 4/5 in the Spain vs France betting to qualify for the final. They will be missing some key players for that tie due to suspensions, including defender Dani Carvajal and Robin Le Normand.Luis de la Fuente’s side were the only team with a 100% record in the group stages of this tournament. They are the joint-highest goalscorers at Euro 2024 with Germany on 11 goals. Victory in this competition would be the second consecutive year they have lifted the trophy as they won the Nations League in 2023.
France
2022 World Cup runners-up France are in the semi-finals of yet another major tournament. They are bidding to make up for their penalty shootout loss to Argentina at the World Cup two years ago.
Didier Deschamps’ team has one of the world’s best players in Kylian Mbappe. The new Real Madrid signing has been forced to wear a mask at this tournament due to an injury suffered to his nose in their group-stage victory over Austria. Although their captain was substituted in extra-time of their quarter-final success against Portugal, he is expected to be fit enough to face Spain.
France have a lot of attacking options in their squad, so if things are not working for them Deschamps can change personnel and tactics from his bench.
England
After topping their group earlier in the tournament, England needed extra time to beat Slovakia and penalties to get past Switzerland respectively. They were just seconds away from being eliminated from the competition in the last 16 until they scored in stoppage time to force an extra 30 minutes.
Gareth Southgate’s side have not been at their best going forward so far in Germany, but they keep finding a way to get the job done. Their next challenge against the Netherlands will be their toughest to date.
If they do make it to the final, it will be the second successive European Championship that England will be playing for the trophy.
Netherlands
The Netherlands made a slow start to this tournament, as they could only finish third in their group. Fortunately for them, they were one of the best third-placed teams, which meant they advanced through to the knockout stages.
Ronald Koeman’s side defeated Romania in the last 16 and then Turkey in the quarter-final. This is the furthest they have reached a major tournament since the 2014 World Cup in Brazil. They will be hoping to make their first final since the 2010 World Cup.
The winner of this tournament will be involved in the Finalissima in 2025 where they will face the 2024 Copa America champions.
