Wedding Preparation Checklist: Keep Calm and Have it under Control

By Voucherix-C Leave a Comment

The wedding day is exciting and responsible. Brides want everything to go perfectly, and they are always afraid to forget something, miss something, not think it over… It’s good when there is a wedding planner who leads your couple through the thorns of preparation from beginning to end, knows about all the little things and controls everything. In this case, you can relax and rely on a professional. The organizer will be your lifesaver on X day and will help you deal with any force majeure event, even if it happens.

But what if you decide to make everything for the wedding yourself? Don’t worry, we have prepared a wedding preparation checklist.

10-12 months before the wedding

Don’t rush into the stress of getting ready shortly after your engagement if you’re not in a rush to be married. Give yourself time to savor your newlywed status and consider your expectations for the forthcoming holiday. Spend these months researching locations and vendors by looking through wedding magazines and the internet.

  • Create a budget (at least approximate)
  • Study the market for wedding proposals
  • Compose a moodboard
  • Choose wedding date
  • Decide on the format of the wedding

Let’s dwell on the moodboard for a bit. A moodboard is your wedding inspiration, a collection of photographs, illustrations and details that represent the perfect wedding for you. In it, you can reflect not only the desired palette and style of design, but also the general atmosphere of the holiday that you are striving for.

You can create a separate board on Pinterest or prepare a presentation – choose the format that will be most convenient for you. And if you want more clarity, print out a photo (or cut out pictures from magazines) and assemble a collage. When assembling a moodboard, you can save the pages and contacts of companies in advance to facilitate subsequent processes. For example, you were inspired by photos of bridal bouquet dubai. Save the options of flower arrangements you like, as well as the contacts of the flower company and details such as whether they have a flower delivery. Also consider a dubbed floral bouquet to give to your bridesmaid.

8-9 months before the wedding

Making decisions regarding the wedding’s location, whether to get in touch with the planner, or how many people to invite now is the best option. But first, set priorities and decide what aspects of the wedding are primary and secondary for you. This will support sensible financial management on your part.

  • Select spot
  • Hire an organizer (and if you decide to prepare yourself, don’t miss our electronic organizer)
  • Choose a presenter, photographer and videographer
  • Make a rough guest list
  • Allocate the budget by item of expenditure

6-7 months before the wedding

The most active phase of preparation is right now. Your workload and wedding-related duties will vary based on the theme and the presence of the organizer, but there are several things that are constant and should not be overlooked:

  • Decide on the concept and style of the wedding
  • Send “Save the date” cards
  • Buy or start sewing a wedding dress
  • Choose your honeymoon destination
  • Choose bridesmaids
  • Create a wedding website and add relevant information to it
  • Choose a florist/decorator

4-5 months before the wedding

  • Carry out pre-wedding love-story photography
  • Choose pastry chef and cake
  • Choose dresses for bridesmaid, dress code for guests
  • Buy a suit for the groom
  • Think over logistics
  • Find a makeup artist/hairdresser
  • Buy court rings
  • Start wedding dance preparation classes
  • Visit the wedding spot with a decorator/videographer/photographer

3 months before the wedding

  • Send invitations
  • Make a playlist with a DJ
  • Approve the program of the evening with the presenter
  • Order printing (menu, seating cards)

2 months before the wedding

  • If the preparation takes place without an organizer, hire a coordinator for the wedding day
  • Choose a master of ceremonies
  • Compose timing
  • Prepare small gifts for guests
  • Buy underwear, accessories
  • Approve menu
  • Select music for the ceremony
  • Make a seating plan

***

Legal name change after marriage is becoming more popular in the 21st. century, people who decide to do so can enjoy a wedding and think about legal things afterward.

Don’t wait until the day before the wedding to finish everything. It is preferable to complete all the preparations a few weeks before the holiday so that you may arrive at the celebration itself refreshed and alert. Plus, no matter how carefully you prescribe the preparation schedule, some urgent tasks will surely appear these days – and it’s good if you are relatively free to solve them without too much stress and haste.
