Are TV beds worth it?

TV beds are among the most expensive beds available, but they offer a remarkable entertainment experience in return.

Having your TV about 6 feet directly in front of you provides the best viewing experience. Plus, the fact that it’s built into your bed frame ensures that the wall adjacent to your bed is usable for storage and other stuff.

Your bedroom might have a built-in wardrobe across from your bed or an awkward shape that requires your TV set to be positioned at an angle on an adjustable bracket – this isn’t ideal because it’s an ugly and impractical solution.

A TV bed makes integrating your TV into your bedroom easy and improves your entertainment with features like built-in soundbars and speakers.

Join us below to discover more about TV beds.

Optimal viewing distance

Positioning your TV at the foot of your bed creates the perfect viewing distance for modern flat screens. With a 32″ to 48″ TV roughly 6 feet away from your eyes, you’ll experience optimal picture clarity and reduced eye strain.

This setup mimics the geometry of a premium cinema experience, where the screen fills just the right amount of your field of vision for comfortable viewing.

Hidden when not in use

Keeping your bedroom clutter-free becomes effortless with a TV that disappears into your bed frame. You won’t have to worry about unsightly cables dangling from wall mounts or dust collecting on your screen.

When the TV is tucked away, your bedroom’s clean, streamlined look remains uncompromised, and there’s no need for additional furniture or mounting solutions that take up valuable space.

Built-in speakers and charging

Listen to your favourite shows through integrated audio systems that deliver impressive sound quality. Many TV beds have built-in soundbars that create immersive audio without extra speakers cluttering your space.

USB charging ports integrated into the bedsides keep your devices powered up overnight, eliminating the need for additional charging stations on your bedside table.

Ottoman storage

With ottoman TV beds, maximising your bedroom storage becomes simple. The generous space beneath your mattress provides the perfect spot to store spare bedding, seasonal clothes, or extra pillows.

Lift-up mechanisms make accessing your belongings easy, and the hidden compartment keeps everything dust-free while maintaining your bedroom’s organised appearance.

A style for everyone

Transform your bedroom with a TV bed that matches your interior design vision. From luxurious velvet upholstery to sophisticated faux leather finishes, you’ll find options in every texture imaginable.

Contemporary cotton weaves and cosy teddy fabrics offer different looks, while multiple colour choices ensure your TV bed perfectly complements your existing décor.

Long-lasting technology

TV beds have robust mechanical lifting mechanisms that don’t need servicing but are easy enough to maintain should they go wrong—the mechanism has an electric motor, and the arms use bolts. Nothing is complex.

Your TV will integrate into the mount, and all the cables will run out of sight underneath your bed. You can connect your games console and store it near your bed for easy access, but some TV beds have a compartment for consoles and TV boxes.

Assessing the cost

TV beds cost, on average, between £800 and £2,000. That’s a wide price range, but you have to consider the different levels of tech they offer.

A basic TV bed will provide a rock-solid TV mount, but it probably won’t have built-in speakers or will just have a basic soundbar.

A top-spec TV bed might have 5:1 surround sound with Dolby Atmos – a good example is the Star TV Edge. Also, more expensive TV beds have ottoman storage, bringing more storage to your bedroom to help you maximise space.
