How did God of War fare on PC?

By John Davis Leave a Comment

The most anticipated PC game finally hit the market a few days back and now it’s time to find out exactly how God of War turned out on PC!

God of War has finally made its way to PC and gamers just can’t have enough of it. It’s been a while since the title was released for Consoles and the talk of it getting a pc version was circulating around the gaming community and everyone was so hyped as the day of release came closer.

Now that the game is finally out, we can actually see if the hype was really worth it. Gamers are already considering GOD of War’s pc version to be the greatest method to experience this masterpiece, despite the fact that it was initially a PlayStation 4 exclusive. The PC edition of God of War runs better than the PS4 version, but the margin narrows down as the PS5 and PC versions of the game become closer in terms of hardware performance.

So the question here is, how did God of War fare on PC, so far? And is it worth all the hype that it has created?

The Difference Between PC and Console version?

Aside from backward compatibility for the PS5, PC’s features provide an overall superior experience to play God of War. It’s possible to enjoy God of War on both PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5, but it’s recommended to play the PC version. When it comes to graphics quality and FPS speed, consoles have gone a long way since they had to compete with PCs, but they are still far behind in comparison.

The PC version of God of War enables players to make use of AMD’s FidelityFX Super Resolution or Nvidia’s DLSS (with ultrawide screen compatibility), as well as upgraded visuals unavailable to PlayStation gamers. As a result, gamers now have access to a new and improved version of the game, one that was previously available only on the PlayStation 3. For the PC version of God of War, Santa Monica has included special graphics improvements simply because most ordinary and higher-end PCs can handle the modifications with adequate performance.

Play God of War to its limit

To make God of War more accessible to a wider audience, Santa Monica also created an infographic outlining the optimal PC configurations required to play the game at its peak performance. Even before the game was released, it was obvious that the PC version of God of War looked better than the PlayStation version.

High-resolution shadows and screen-space reflections, as well as ultra-wide screen compatibility for players who have monitors with the capacity, were the most significant graphical enhancements to God of War on the PC. If you haven’t already tried it out, you should definitely do so as you can find some sweet game deals on a number of different marketplaces on the internet.

However, having better visuals is just part of the story. The PlayStation 4 and PlayStation 5 versions of God of War don’t include any additional narrative material that the PS4 and PS5 versions don’t have. It does, however, heighten the sense of immersion, and realism. The PC version of the game gives an altogether new degree of detail that was previously impossible on Sony’s platforms. The PC version of God of War’s narrative and storyline are brought to life even more by the additional additions. Some gamers may not like the high-resolution shadows or realistic reflections, but for those who pay attention to every detail, it’s a worthwhile experience.
