Seasons change and so do our wardrobes and style. What’s hot for the cold of winter?

We have travelled some distance from a fig leaf as our wardrobe for all occasions. How many seasons of clothing do you rotate through storage? Do you have long enough seasons to rotate clothing into annual storage for winter/summer?

I was raised in America just South of Canada. We had different clothes for the varying seasons of -40c-+35c annually. Now I live in Thailand. The seasons are hot, rainy, hot and rainy, and sublime. My general clothing needs do not alter much from breathable, natural, renewable, and minimal. People who live in the tropics accept the rain. Don’t worry, everyone else will be wet as well. We also accept sweat because life in this world is experienced outside.

For the odd occasion, the style of your going out dresses depends almost entirely upon how you want to feel and less on where you are going. Are you looking to snap necks with a leather mini or are you there to dance it out in a LBD? Guys, quality footwear will have her checking you out from head to toe.

Which comes first, the evening dress or the event to wear it? A contour-flattering blend of formal gown and cocktail dress creates an elegant look for a sunset champagne cruise with some light dancing. In the case of a tuxedo, we know the event is planned first.

It is inexpensive to have a custom suit made here. When you have a suit that fits you like a secret agent, you’ll find events to rock it. Expand your wardrobe fellas, and expand your professional and personal networks. Not that clothes change you but they can grant you access to other input and relationships that can.

Ladies, you never want to outshine the bride, but you should blind the wedding party if you’re not in it. A floor-length gown is very classy, concerning the temperature of the wedding season, but not above-the-knee ladies.

For Autumn/Winter 24 capes and cropped coats are trending and a welcome seasonal layer for style dimension and warmth retention. Cold floral, tartan and vintage leopard prints will be on dresses, quilts, frocks, and sleepers. Shaggy and woolly footwear are hot and warm for blustery nights.

The cool blues and white of the later season will provide a pale background as a canvas for the splashes of yellow, red, pink, and neon green recent runway designers are warming up for midi dresses. I look upon anti-fashion as exuberant artistic expression through the media of attire, and fashion as a functional version of the same expression.

What we wear is far more than a visual barrier to our bodies or a statement of status and style. It protects us on multiple levels and gives us confidence in that comfort. We wear certain colours for safety, seasons, mourning, and weddings. We identify the professions of police officers, priests, doctors, or ship captains by their attire and accoutrements.

In the winter we all need a little more warmth. Let your personality shine through your clothes, not due to your clothes.
