Limited to just 500 examples, the diver’s watch Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition is the latest product of nearly two decades of collaboration with Horn and the brand’s tradition of designing sophisticated vehicles for modern heroes.
The Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition is a watch equipped with many features to overcome harsh conditions. The 47mm diameter sanded titanium case is both very light and extremely durable.
The black matte ceramic ring of the unidirectional bezel allows the dive time to be measured legibly, while the screw-down chronograph buttons make the watch’s waterproof feature unrivaled.
White hour markers and bright yellow central chronograph hands stand out on the dark blue dial, bringing to mind the 2016 Panerai Luminor Submersible 1950 Pole 2 Pole Limited Edition (PAM00719), which is also inspired by Horn with its color combination. Although Panerai sets its sights on the future, it manages to strike a striking balance between continuity and innovation, with the value it places on the past.
Designed for intrepid explorers on land or at sea, the Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition works with the P.9100 caliber, the first automatic movement with chronograph functions developed by Panerai. One of the outstanding complications of the movement is the flyback function, which allows the chronograph to reset and restart when the button at eight o’clock is pressed. The movement accumulates a three-day power reserve.
The Submersible Chrono Flyback Mike Horn Edition, which is waterproof up to 30 bar (approximately 300 meters), has two straps; blue rubber accordion strap and the new UPCamo strap, a blend of camouflage fabric and rubber inspired by the uniforms of the Italian Navy.
Thanks to the patented Panerai belt system, it is very easy to change the belts among themselves. A special tool and a screwdriver are sufficient to remove the trapezoidal clasp pin made of sanded titanium. Watches and accessories are placed in a box made of recycled plastic, in line with Panerai’s support for environmentally friendly practices.
