New York Fashion Week 2022-23 Fall/Winter: Another long-term fashion week made its start in New York. The 2022-23 Fall/Winter collections promise us a season with a high level of balance.
With the completion of New York Fashion Week and handing over the flag to London, the 2022-23 Fall/Winter collections opened the doors of a new vision. We embark on a journey through the stories that will come from the androgynous appearances of Vetements to the elegant fairy tale of Carolina Herrera.
New York Fashion Week 2022-23 Fall/Winter
Vetements
“Now it’s time for me to stand out.” Guram Gvasalia congratulated his creative director with his words. The masked faces that his brother Demna Gvasalia featured in Balenciaga were named the Vetements legacy. Guram Gvasalia embraced this legacy and created new androgynous silhouettes. While comfortable patterns and masculine touches are dominant in the collection, Gvasalia brings a futuristic touch to the comfort of the city.
Alaia
Creative director Pieter Mulier transforms Alaia‘s codes in a unique way in his 2022-23 Fall/Winter collection. While the minimalist lines protect the border areas, the high-moving finishes on the trousers and skirts are a small reference to the Spanish trousers in our memories.
Altuzarra
Altuzarra appears with balaclava berets that were popular last winter season. The collection, in which Triko has gained a wide place, is broken with leather details, creating both soft and strong looks.
Kenzo
Kenzo also carried the poppy flower, which has become his signature on perfume bottles, into his collection. The collection, which has high floral reflections, also finds its place in overalls and caps.
Paco Rabanne
In the 2022-23 Fall/Winter collection, the brand focuses on skirts. The looks ranging from minis to deep slits strongly emphasize femininity and signal that skirts will once again become a trend in the new season.
Proenza Schouler
Jack McCollough and Lazaro Hernandez introduce us to updated forms in their new collections. While the designs with reference to free cuts remind of home comfort, Alaia’s balaclava detail also appears in Schouler, emphasizing its popularity.
Carolina Herrera
Carolina Herrera brings together elegant women with strong colors and romantic forms in its 2022-23 Fall/Winter collections. The designs, which are the reflection of a magnificence far from exaggeration, evoke the desire to bring night elegance to daily life. Herrera’s refined stance, which is in our memory, successfully blends both the lines of the past and modern touches.
Michael Kors
While Michael Kors creates a timeless collection by taking the wide palette of brown, the vibrant transition of orange points to the choices that we call “dopamine dressing”, which motivates us spiritually. While hoodies create a mysterious atmosphere in designs, the forms that surround the body have created a clear visual as well as feminine. While Michael Kors’ designs that are compatible with every hour of the day form the main line of the collection, the harmonious attitude of brown will be among our indispensables in the new season.
Gabriela Hearst
Gabriela Hearst, one of the important representatives of the sustainability principle in the fashion world, focuses on simplicity and knitwear in her 2022-23 Autumn/Winter collection. Freedom is the source of inspiration in designs where comfort is at the forefront. Activist model Amber Valletta closes the fashion show with a black suit, symbolizing the brand’s plain codes and perspective in a striking way.
