Milan Fashion Week 2021-22

Fendi

Dior Men Creative Director Kim Jones made an important initiative and created a women’s collection of haute couture, ready-to-wear and furs with a yellow brown neutral-tone color palette and luxurious fabrics for the Fendi Autumn 2021 collection. Luxurious ornaments such as feminine, cool and tailored long coats, dresses that grasp the waist sexyly, long fur and silk fringes create the DNA of the season, while turning the pieces in the collection into investments. However, despite all this luxurious and flamboyant DNA, Fendi stands out with its usefulness in the autumn season of 2021.

As for Kim Jones, who was appointed as the creative director of women’s collections at the Rome-based fashion house previously run by legendary fashion designer Karl Lagerfeld, she continues to reflect her vision and passion at both fashion houses along with the women’s collection here, along with Dior Men.

Valentino

Releasing the 2021 Autumn season with a black and white mixed collection, Valentino presented designs that attract attention with their extremely fine hand workmanship. Pierpaolo Piccioli, the creative director of the fashion house, opened this collection; He did it with a quote from artist Lucio Fontana, who is the founder of the Spatialism art movement and works by cutting and smashing on canvases.

The designer proved this reference with the presentation of brand new silhouettes in super mini dress and skirt proportions, in which he completely changed the fluid designs extending to the signature places. With these silhouettes that stand out as Valentino’s key concept for the fall season, Piccioli adapts the spirit of couture as a culture to daily life without the nostalgia of the past and expresses its claim clearly with its designs. Prada

Miuccia Prada and Raf Simons, the Creative Directors of the Italian fashion house, focused on the concept of metamorphosis for the 2021 Autumn season and brought the classic designs redesigned to the center of attention. Comfortable designs emphasizing the desire for movement attracted attention in the collection, which reflects the feeling of optimism with a brand new energy and desire. Referring to hybrid outerwear pieces that combine layered and bomber silhouettes, the collection presented designs enriched with various colors, motifs and knitted jacquards. Offering many contrasts together in the 2021 Autumn season, the Italian fashion house blends retro with futuristic, minimal and maximal, sporty and elegant looks with an intellectual beauty. While the evening dresses were replaced by practical and elegant overalls with jacquard details, the models appeared with knitted overalls diversified with Art Nouveau graphics as if they were in a retro-futuristic time capsule.

Etro

For the fall season of 2021, Veronica Etro felt the need to leave her comfort zone and move away from her own bohemian aesthetic, focusing on two legendary figures with the concept of freedom; Rudolf Nureyev and Jimi Hendrix. Inspired by this duo who share a free-spirited and rebellious attitude, Veronica Etro avoided costume looks and reflected her sophisticated touches to comfortable silhouettes with elegant embroidery. Offering a much younger and casual clothing collection, the designer contrasted the combination of feminine mini and long velvet dresses with embossed metal buckle belts with Victorian collar blouses and embroidered aprons. Soft evening dresses, fringed vests and jackets, high-waisted and quilted patchwork trousers, wide sweaters, paisley patterned jackets, anorak bombers, patchwork coats and brocade men’s clothes attracted attention in the silhouettes that are identified with Hendrix’s appearance and reminiscent of Nureyev’s stage costumes. Alberta Ferretti

Shedding light on the craftsmanship behind the 2021 Autumn collection, Alberta Ferretti presented designs created with the wonderful craftsmanship and techniques of craftsmen. Extraordinary outerwear designs with many different alternatives ranged from stylish coats that gathered the emphasis to the shoulders, to sheepskin jackets and fluid wide coats that resembled ponchos. A color palette of earth tones of yellow, brown and beige, as well as different shades of cobalt blue, petrol, emerald, olive green, bronze gray; met with timeless, clean and meticulous silhouettes. The designs, supported by feathery textures and cocoon-shaped forms that almost embrace the body, highlighted the determined and strong Ferretti woman with her sensual and feminine appeal at the same time.
